Once you get on a generation page, you go to a family and can link back to the Parent family by clicking on the parent's name. When the information on the Children's family is posted in the next generation you can go to it by clicking on the child's name. |
The index contains the names of all individuals in the Genealogy section, except (1) those who are shown as the parents of a spouse, (2) where the individual's first name or surname is unknown, or (3) where the individual's first name is listed as the following: anomyome, child, infant, baby, boy, girl, male, or female.
Names are sorted alphabetically by last name, then first name. Individuals with a "spouse" are sorted before individuals without a "spouse." If there are a large number of individuals under a surname, additional hyperlinks have been added within the surname and are shown on the next page of this index as a letter in parentheses. As an example, Andrus (M) would indicate there is a hyperlink to Andrus and a second hyperlink to the first individual under Andrus whose first name begins with the letter M.
Surnames that have variations in their spelling, such as Doucet/Doucett/Doucette are listed together as one group, sorted alphabetically by first name, to simplify the search. Usually it is not known when the surname changed or what name the individual is listed by in the index.
Remember, when searching for a name, look for alternative spellings of either first or last name. Also remember to look for English/French equivalents. For example, Jean and John, Jean and Jean Baptiste, LeBlanc and White, LeJeune and Young. A few of the names are in Latin. The key is to be creative and look around. See the Table of Alternative Spellings.
Please read the Introductory Information so that you will see how the index is organized and what information it contains.
